I am Laura Toomer Photography….

 

… I take photographs of things I have a personal connection with, giving me a deeper understanding of how best to capture those moments. It is important to me that moments are captured, not created, which is why I rarely use a studio; preferring natural light and the relaxing atmospheres of a home or out and about for little ones and their families. Having three littles of my own, my photography is like a fourth child: loved, nurtured, beautiful in its own right and personally connected with me.

As a mother to three aged between 10 and 8 I adore all things natural and beautiful about the beginnings of life: pregnancy, mother blessings, birth, newborns, babywearing and beyond. I am a trained baby wearing peer supporter and trained doula, with a passion and keen eye for the nurturing and amazing moments that exist in creating and raising a family. In my photography I am unobtrusive; understanding and respecting the peacefulness needed as a bystander there simply to capture what is unfolding and not to participate in the wonders before me, especially in the wonder of birth.
